An exploration of the opposing notions of the city as a finite and condition of interiority and urban territory as extension. How do we introduce the city into the territory? What are the models of such operation? Can we replace the unending homogeneity of the contemporary urban territory with points of focus that allow for heterogeneity in urban character? The project begins with a limit—the residential frame—into which any urban type can be grafted. Form, in itself, becomes a radical statement in the territory, which inherently operates on systems of unimpeded flow, extension, and expansion.
